I'm an independent-minded woman who likes to help others and enjoy whatever the world has to offer me. I am intellectually curious about just about any topic, though my favorite late-night discussions tend to be political, philosophical, or psychological. I also love to travel just about anywhere, for just about any reason.
I'm a grad student, with a grad student's schedule and a grad student's budget, but I work hard to have time and money for enjoyment. I study psychology but I'm strictly off duty when I'm not at work - promise I'm not out to analyze you!
I've been out of the dating scene for a long time over the course of 2 long-term relationships, and since I don't drink much I don't spend a lot of time at bars or parties (not totally averse to them, they just aren't my normal scene). I prefer coffee house chats and fun things to give us something to talk about, like plays or movies. I'm also up for outdoor activities. I love concerts, especially punk or pop-punk. But I'm just as happy being exposed to something new and learning to enjoy it as I am with someone whose interests match my own.
I'm willing to travel in So Cal, especially Los Angeles, Ventura, or Santa Barbara Counties. For the right someone, road trips are not a problem!
My Ideal Person:
I am looking for someone who isn't afraid of a good debate, who embraces life and wants to share his interests with me, who enjoys challenging and being challenged by his partner.
I'm not planning on jumping into anything very serious any time soon, but I also keep that possibility open for the future and would prefer someone for whom that is not out of the question but also not a pressing need. I'd rather take our time and enjoy!
I've made plenty of mistakes in my life and I respect others who have done so as well (who are you perfect people anyway?). I like partners who are willing to take the lead at times and willing to follow as often as they lead.
The last great book I read The Speed of Dark by Elizabeth Moon; a bunch of stuff by Octavia Butler
My most humbling moment Humility is a way of life.
The celebrity I resemble the most Kermit the Frog
The best or worst lie I've ever told Best lie = "I never lie." Worst lie = "I'm not angry, really."
If I could be anywhere right now I like where I am.
Five items I can't live without Something to read, some great music, good food, time to relax, and something or someone warm and comfortable
Fill in the blank: _____ is sexy; _____ is sexier. Intelligence is sexy; laughter is sexier.
In my bedroom one will find... Textbooks, a half-read novel or two, a perpetually unmade bed.
